Weird Websites

Do you visit the same boring sites, over and over? Do you surf for the tried and true? So do I, most of the time. But after spending the day building commercial websites, I have to do something to convince myself that there's more to the Web than prying money out of people's wallets.

So I look for the really strange stuff, sites that are on the Web but that left the highway several exits back. I had a folder in Favorites just brimming with shortcuts to these outposts of marginality. Frankly, I couldn't stand thinking that millions of people will never experience them. (Neither will you; by the time I got around to this, a fair number had vanished.)
You're looking around this page and thinking, "This guy designs websites???" Look, this site is a portal to weirdness, not conformity. I sure as heck wasn't going to make it look like Wall Street at 9 a.m. on Monday. I had in mind something more like Bleeker Street at 3 a.m. Sunday.

As I said, nothing nasty or "adult" here, just weird. I encourage you to recommend your own favorite weird sites. This project is necessary to balance out the yawners of commerce. As more and more corporations and other plain-vanilla websites pop up, it is important to recognize the ones that are on the....well, let's just say they're on a different plane of the web, okay?

If you find any broken links please let me know. As much fun as I had at these sites the first time I visited them, most of them aren't places I want to see again too soon, so I don't go around checking up on them. I did check them all before I uploaded the site, though.
